Requirements

NMM is seeking a talented and highly motivated Software Engineer to help strengthen, scale, and expand our web-based data analytics platform. Our primary technologies include Python, Go, PostgreSQL, TimescaleDB, React, TypeScript, and AWS. Candidates are not expected to have deep expertise in every technology we use. We value ownership, technical breadth, strong debugging and testing skills, and the ability to learn new technologies over narrow specialization., * 3+ years of professional software engineering experience building and maintaining production systems.

  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language and willingness to work with Python, Go, and TypeScript.
  • Experience developing full-stack applications, including APIs, backend services, frontend applications, and databases.
  • Experience building or operating reliable, scalable cloud-based systems; AWS experience is preferred.
  • Strong production debugging skills using logs, metrics, traces, database analysis, and profiling.
  • Strong automated testing practices with experience in unit, integration, system, regression, or end-to-end testing.
  • Familiarity with relational databases and SQL.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools while independently validating their output.
  • Fluency with Git and common pull-request and code-review workflows.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with Python backend services or data-processing systems.
  • Experience with React and TypeScript, particularly for complex or data-heavy applications.
  • Experience building services in Go or another compiled language such as Java, C, or C++.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL, TimescaleDB, or other large-scale data platforms.
  • Experience designing or operating data-processing pipelines, distributed systems, or high-volume time-series applications.
  • Experience operating production systems in AWS, including compute, networking, IAM, storage, databases, containers, and monitoring.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code, CI/CD, containerized deployments, monitoring, alerting, incident response, backups, and disaster recovery.
  • Experience with load testing, performance profiling, capacity planning, API rate limiting, or database connection and resource management.
  • Experience with Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms.
  • Experience applying cybersecurity best practices to application and infrastructure design., * Bachelor's (Required), * Cloud development: 3 years (Preferred)
  • React: 3 years (Preferred)
