  • Demonstrated experience building and deploying cloud-native, distributed enterprise systems, including containerized microservices (Docker, Kubernetes), Git-based CI/CD pipelines, and a major cloud platform such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
  • Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, or cloud-managed databases (e.g., Google Cloud SQL).
  • Experience with message-based/event-driven architectures.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technology stacks, languages, and frameworks, along with the underlying business processes they support.
  • Ability to work core Alaska business hours (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Alaska Time).

Soft Skills

  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with the initiative and creativity to identify pragmatic, results-oriented solutions.

  • Experience with reactive or functional programming patterns (e.g., Spring WebFlux, Vavr).
  • Familiarity with event sourcing and CQRS.
  • Experience with schema/version-control tooling such as Liquibase.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platform services particularly with GCP cloud services such as Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, and Cloud SQL.
