Job description
- Provide end-user IT support for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Respond to technical support requests via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
- Troubleshoot, research, and resolve problems; document and track resolutions.
- Deliver second-tier support for PC, server, and mainframe applications.
- Collaborate with network services, software engineering, and application development teams.
- Recommend system modifications to reduce recurring issues.
- Assist with IT development for internal applications and tracking systems.
- Support GSO functions, including maintaining inventory, coordinating office events, and optimizing office operations.
- Ensure timely resolution of technical problems and supervise help desk operations.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma preferred; additional technical certifications a plus.
- Minimum of two years of experience at the Department of State as a System Administrator.
- Experience teaching, coaching, or mentoring personnel in State Department systems and regulations.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative research methods.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, work independently, and coordinate across teams.
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Compensation & Benefits:
Estimated Starting Salary Range for Help Desk Specialist : $100,000- $111,944.19
Pay commensurate with experience.
