Data Engineer

A services organization in New Jersey is looking to fill an immediate need with the addition of a new Data Engineer to their team., * Develop and support new and existing data applications. * Partner with business users and analysts to understand data needs and recommend effective long-term solutions. * Work with application and enterprise architects to review implementation designs and data flows. * Provide technical guidance for complex data solutions, including code reviews, testing, deployment, and documentation. * Support production issues, maintain integration documentation, and contribute to broader data engineering initiatives.

5-7 years of experience in Data Warehousing, Data Integration, or Data Engineering projects. * Strong data engineering fundamentals with ETL experience * Advanced data modeling experience with emphasis on dimensional modeling * Proficiency in SQL * Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks and the Azure ecosystem. * Experience using Python or Scala * Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across teams * Proven ability to own work independently

Desired Skills: * Experience with Power BI, Azure ML, or Synapse * Familiarity with Informatica PowerCenter, IICS, Cognos, or Netezza Performance Server * Experience with Azure DevOps or GitHub * Background in Property and Casualty Insurance * Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related engineering field * Experience leading workstreams or delivering end-to-end project implementations
