Job description

We are seeking an experienced AWS Wickr Collaboration & Messaging Platform Administrator/Engineer to support and optimize secure messaging and collaboration environments. This role will work closely with end users, technical teams, and customer stakeholders to assess current implementations, improve operational processes, enhance platform performance, and ensure secure, scalable service delivery.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience administering AWS-based collaboration platforms, strong customer-facing consulting skills, and expertise in secure communications within highly regulated or security-conscious environments. Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and evaluate existing messaging and collaboration service implementations.
  • Document current-state environments and recommend improvements to enhance scalability, reliability, security, and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), operational runbooks, and knowledge base documentation.
  • Collaborate with security, networking, and engineering teams to resolve integration challenges involving identity services, logging, monitoring, and related technologies.
  • Monitor platform health, capacity, performance, and usage metrics while implementing proactive alerting and reporting.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute upgrades, patches, and configuration changes in accordance with established change management processes.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to help desk personnel, administrators, and engineering teams.
  • Serve as the primary technical escalation point for advanced troubleshooting and operational support.
  • Engage with stakeholders to identify service improvement opportunities and enhance user adoption and support processes.
  • Recommend best practices for secure communications, compliance, governance, and system administration.

Requirements

  • 7-10 years of overall Information Technology experience.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting AWS environments in a Systems Administration, Cloud Engineering, or DevOps capacity.
  • Experience in a senior support, consulting, technical account management, or customer success role supporting enterprise technologies.
  • Experience conducting discovery sessions, workshops, stakeholder interviews, and requirements-gathering activities.
  • Hands-on experience administering AWS Wickr or Wickr Enterprise environments.
  • Experience with user provisioning, security policies, retention settings, compliance controls, and network administration within messaging platforms.
  • Experience integrating collaboration platforms with Identity Providers (IdPs) such as Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Okta, or other SAML/OIDC solutions.
  • Experience managing secure communication or collaboration platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Slack Enterprise Grid, Wickr, or similar encrypted messaging solutions.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills related to real-time communications, including connectivity, client configuration, authentication, endpoint, and performance issues.
  • Ability to assess ambiguous environments, develop structured operational plans, and drive technical improvements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical teams, leadership, and customer stakeholders.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience supporting collaboration platforms in government, defense, or highly regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and enterprise observability tools.
  • Experience supporting enterprise cloud security initiatives and compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of messaging platform governance, lifecycle management, and operational best practices., * Active Secret Security Clearance.
  • Ability to support work within the Chesapeake, VA area.
  • Occasional local travel may be required.
