Job description
- Develop, document, and maintain Linux architecture and design standards for secure, scalable environments across on-premise datacenters and AWS.
- Lead the engineering, configuration, and lifecycle management of RHEL-based platforms, including patching, compliance, and governance.
- Define platform patterns for identity, access, secrets, networking, and observability.
- Own and evolve frameworks for the development of enterprise Linux images, baselines, and hardened builds.
- Automate platform operations using Ansible and design Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines for platform configuration and deployment.
- Provide Level 3/4 engineering support, including triage and troubleshooting.
- Partner with application teams to integrate workloads and support platform adoption.
Requirements
We are seeking an experienced Linux OS Architect to support and advance our enterprise Linux platform. The ideal candidate will provide deep technical expertise in RHEL, architectural leadership, and hands-on engineering experience in hybrid cloud and on-premise environments. This role requires a forward-thinking mindset to lead initiatives, influence design, and contribute to the operational excellence of mission-critical platforms., Experience: 5+ years of enterprise Linux engineering experience (RHEL) and a proven ability to architect large-scale Linux environments.
Technical Skills: Expertise with Ansible, Terraform, Bash/Python, and CI/CD is required. Candidates must possess strong knowledge of Linux internals, networking, and security, along with experience in AWS multi-account environments.
Architecture & Leadership: The role demands the ability to define standards, patterns, and architectures. The candidate must be able to influence platform strategy, lead designs, and operate autonomously with strong cross-functional leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the financial services industry.
- Understanding of environments with high governance and security requirements.
- RHCSA, RHCE, AWS Solutions Architect / SysOps, or Linux+ certifications.
