The SEVIS Data and Compliance Analyst will work to ensure NC State compliance with all the maintenance of F-1 and J-1 records in SEVIS in accordance with federal regulations under the supervision of the Interim SEVIS Systems and Compliance Manager. The SEVIS Data and Compliance Analyst will serve as an authorized school official for student (DSO for F-1) and exchange visitor (ARO for J-1) programs, working individually and with other OIS staff to ensure compliance with immigration regulations and reporting requirements. They will run database queries and reports to support NC State's federally mandated Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) reporting to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and submit event based and periodic reporting to SEVIS as required. Data Management and Regulatory Compliance 60%
- Act as a Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) as required to perform event based and periodic reporting.
- Under the direction of the Interim SEVIS Systems & Compliance Manager, synthesize data from multiple sources to manage the new student registration process, identify potential compliance issues for new students, and generate routine reports on expected arrivals for stakeholders.
- Perform as delegated the registration process for all returning F-1 and J-1 students.
- In coordination with the Interim SEVIS Systems and Compliance Manager, review and resolve student & scholar alerts in SEVIS and Sunapsis such as changes of curriculum and level, address changes, or assign to advisor for review
- Perform delegated SEVIS-related database maintenance and data clean-up services
- Run queries in SIS and Sunapsis to assist with data compliance and institutional reporting
- Remain current with SEVIS-related and regulatory updates pertaining to international students and scholars to ensure institutional compliance.
- Advise international students and scholars to the extent necessary to move them through OIS processes and procedures.
Electronic Business Services Maintenance & Development 30%
- Assist in monitoring the effectiveness of new processes, assisting with technical documentation for end users.
- Coordinate continual updates and maintenance of standard Sunapsis email texts with advisors.
- Manage departmental and administrative user access
- Assist clients and departments with questions related to access to Sunapsis and eForm submission, Sunapsis pin resets, merging records and eForm resets
- Participate in training OIS staff in use of advisor-related SEVIS and Sunapsis functions. Assist in preparing campus-wide Sunapsis training and on-going production support including documentation to be used for training and on-going reference.
- Assist with maintenance of campus-wide electronic business process documentation and update as needed due to updates in MyPack, Sunapsis, OnBase, SEVIS and other database systems, as well as changes in internal OIS processes and procedures.
- Act as University back-up on all topics related to Sunapsis/Global Home.
Other duties 10%
- Back up the Intake Specialist as needed during illness/vacation in assigning cases to advisors
- Attend and provide technical assistance to policies and procedures discussions with advisors
- Provide back-up support to the front desk as needed.
- Assist with communicating process updates and providing training to departments and other campus stakeholders.
- Attend conferences and give conference presentations when needed.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements
- Expertise in use of MS Office applications/Google Suite, particularly Excel; experience in use of university student and personnel information systems; familiarity with FERPA regulations; Strong interpersonal, collaborative, organizational, analytical, and oral/written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, work independently, manage complex projects, and attend to detail in database management and required reporting.
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
- Bachelor's degree
- Prior experience with Sunapsis International Office Module (branded as Global Home at NC State).
- Understanding of basic computer program concepts including demonstrated knowledge of a programming language; demonstrated knowledge of and experience with relational database concepts and SQL.
- One year of relevant work experience in a higher education environment with international student and exchange scholar populations and regulations, including understanding of SEVP, F-1 and J visa requirements; or
- An equivalent combination of training and experience
Required License or Certification
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident to access SEVIS system per federal government requirements.
