Job description
We are seeking a Temporary IT Technician to provide hands-on support for desktop hardware, IT assets, and end-user technology. This role is responsible for troubleshooting hardware and software issues, managing IT equipment inventory, supporting desktop deployments, and assisting with technology projects. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor IT systems and respond to service requests and incident tickets.
- Manage IT assets, including tracking inventory, identifying missing equipment, and maintaining accurate records.
- Monitor inventory levels of desktops, laptops, peripherals, and accessories to ensure availability.
- Receive, prepare, package, and ship IT equipment to designated locations.
- Track equipment shipments and provide status updates as needed.
- Troubleshoot hardware issues and coordinate repairs or warranty service when necessary.
- Prepare outdated equipment for recycling or disposal according to established procedures.
- Support the full lifecycle of desktop and laptop equipment, including deployment, replacement, and retirement.
- Perform desktop and laptop imaging for new or replacement devices.
- Create, update, route, and close support tickets using a ticketing system.
- Diagnose and resolve end-user hardware and software issues or escalate as appropriate.
- Assist with technology-related infrastructure and facility projects.
- Support other IT teams with field and technical projects as needed.
- Perform routine administrative and documentation tasks.
- Maintain regular attendance and complete additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 1 3 years of IT support, desktop support, or help desk experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of desktop and laptop hardware, Windows operating systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with IP networking concepts and basic networking principles.
- Experience with computer imaging and hardware deployment.
- Understanding of ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or similar platforms.
- Experience with inventory management and IT asset tracking.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other reporting tools.
- Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware-related issues.
- Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Valid driver's license required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Windows Server and Linux operating systems.
- Familiarity with Cisco networking equipment.
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies.
- Experience with event monitoring and system logging tools.
- Exposure to Power BI or other reporting platforms is a plus.
