Job description
Position Duties: Support and maintain Windchill PLM solutions and systems, as well as other engineering systems, software and infrastructure. Install and configure hardware and software and perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis. Support deployment of patches and provide overall security including the upkeep of firewalls and intrusion detection systems. Develop requirements that outline company data security policies. Troubleshoot user reported software bugs. Submit reproducible bug to vendor for remediation. Create, document, teach and promote best practices and procedures for PLM, CAD and engineering authoring tools system. Assist in the hardware selection and evaluation of all core PLM related infrastructure. Implement hardware, software and procedural solutions to solve problems or improve processes to meet the needs of the constantly changing global and business environment. Support performance monitoring through the development of a reliable and consistent way to monitor system performance and provide alerts when performance falls outside the agreed upon parameters. Support the development of the overall system infrastructure design through the creation of a visual representation of the required PLM and CAD system architecture, including the definition of the network and distributed system design for Windchill Solutions. Execute system backup and restoration. Support PLM and engineering tool system upgrade testing.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications: US Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Applications, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field and five (5) years of post-baccalaureate, progressively responsible experience as a System Administrator, IT Consultant, or substantially similar position.
Special Skills Requirements: Must have at least five (5) years of experience in each of the following: working on PLM infrastructure architecture and design; ensuring infrastructure components meet performance and capacity standards; maintaining server, storage, network, and security infrastructure; Jenkins; shell scripting; PowerShell scripting; Linux; and Amazon cloud computing.
