Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Architect to spearhead the definition, design, and governance of data assets for the North America division within Global IT. This pivotal role ensures that data remains consistent, high-quality, secure, and accessible to support strategic business initiatives. You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, delivery leads, data engineers, data scientists, and platform team to build robust data models and integration strategies., 1. North America Data Strategy, Vision and Delivery

  • Landscape Analysis: Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the data landscape, including sources, consumers, and requirements for North America.
  • Strategic Alignment: Define the division's data vision, principles, and standards, ensuring they align with the broader enterprise data strategy.
  1. Data Modeling and Design Model Management: Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models that accurately reflect the domain's assets and relationships.
  • Performance & Scalability: Ensure all data models are scalable, performant, and adhere to industry best practices.
  1. Data Integration and Flow Integration Design: Design and document data integration patterns and flows between the domain and other relevant systems.
  • Pipeline Implementation: Collaborate with data engineering teams to implement reliable and efficient data pipelines.
  1. Data Governance and Quality Policy Enforcement: Collaborate with governance teams to establish and enforce policies, standards, and procedures.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.

  • Experience: 6+ years of experience in data architecture, data modeling, and data management.

Preferred Qualifications Technical Knowledge:

  • Deep understanding of modeling methodologies (relational, dimensional, NoSQL).
  • Strong grasp of integration patterns (ETL, ELT, API integration).
  • Experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Oracle, PostgreSQL, SAP HANA).
  • Knowledge of data warehousing/data lakes (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Google Cloud Platform BigQuery, Hadoop).
  • Experience with transformation tools like DBT or Coalesce.
  • Understanding of cloud platforms (Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure).

Governance: Familiarity with data governance principles, data quality management tools, and practices.

Skills: Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

Industry Experience: Experience in Retail or CPG domains.

Tooling: Familiarity with metadata management and data catalog tools.

Benefits & conditions

Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or cloud-specific data certifications. Compensation and Benefits Salary Range $109,600.00 - $155,000.00 USD

Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.

Benefits: Salaried employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, paid parental leave, disability coverage, and participation in the 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements. Additional benefits include a minimum of 15 vacation/PTO days (hourly employees receive a minimum of 120 hours) and 13 paid holidays (vacation days are prorated based on the employee's hire date within the calendar year). Paid sick leave is adjusted based on role and location in accordance with local laws. Detailed information regarding paid sick leave entitlements will be provided to employees upon hiring and may be subject to adjustments based on changes in legislation or company policies.
