Job description
We are seeking an experienced IT Generalist with deep technical expertise across networking, servers, cloud platforms, cybersecurity, and access control systems. This role is ideal for a highly capable professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving complex technical challenges, and can operate independently while delivering exceptional customer service. As a senior member of the team, you will serve as a primary escalation resource, technical project lead, and mentor, supporting both client environments and internal team development.
Key Responsibilities Infrastructure & Systems
Design, implement, and troubleshoot complex IT environments. Lead infrastructure deployments, upgrades, migrations, and technology refresh projects. Install, configure, and support physical and virtual server environments. Support and optimize Microsoft 365 and Azure ecosystems.
Technical Leadership
Act as the senior escalation point for advanced networking, server, cloud, and security-related issues. Mentor and develop Tier 1 and Tier 2 technicians. Lead technical projects from planning through execution and completion. Establish and maintain technical standards, documentation, and best practices.
Client Support & Communication
Deliver exceptional customer service during both remote and onsite engagements. Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Maintain accurate documentation, project notes, and system records. Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive support and problem-solving.
Technical Expertise Required Advanced Networking
Expert-level experience with Cisco, Meraki, Dell, HP ProCurve, Aruba, Ubiquiti, and similar platforms. Strong understanding of:
VLANs Routing & Switching VPN Technologies Firewall Administration Network Segmentation Wireless Networking
Servers & Virtualization
Physical server deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting. VMware ESXi and Microsoft Hyper-V administration. Experience with enterprise storage technologies (Synology, Dell EMC, or similar). Backup, replication, and disaster recovery planning and implementation.
Microsoft Cloud & Azure
Advanced administration of:
Microsoft 365 Exchange Online SharePoint Online Microsoft Teams Intune Entra ID (Azure AD)
Azure infrastructure management including:
Virtual Networks Virtual Machines Identity & Access Management
Ability to architect, deploy, and troubleshoot cloud solutions independently.
Security & Access Control
Experience supporting physical security and access control platforms such as:
Paxton Net2 ProdataKey Turing Milestone Axis Hikvision, High level of autonomy with minimal day-to-day oversight. Opportunity to work with diverse and modern technology environments. Requirements
Understanding of complete system deployments including controllers, cameras, cabling, networking, and integrations.
Peripherals & End-User Hardware
Troubleshooting and support of printers, copiers, scanners, and related devices. Ability to diagnose both hardware and software issues. Knowledge of internal hardware components and repair processes.
Telephony & VoIP
Administration of cloud-based and on-premise VoIP systems. Experience with:
User provisioning Call routing Auto attendants SIP trunking Hunt groups Extension management
Troubleshooting voice quality issues including latency, jitter, and packet loss. Experience migrating legacy phone systems to cloud-based solutions with minimal downtime.
Requirements
10+ years of hands-on IT infrastructure and systems experience. Proven ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues. Experience working within Managed Service Provider (MSP) environments preferred. Strong customer-facing communication and documentation skills. Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and project management capabilities. Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification preferred. Microsoft 365 Administrator Expert certification preferred. CCNA or equivalent networking certification strongly desired.
