Job description
We are seeking a Senior Database Administrator with strong design, performance, and troubleshooting capabilities. This role involves supporting multiple high-profile or critical applications within a high-volume team environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for completing various projects, including SQL 2016 to SQL 2022 migrations and supporting core business functions. This position requires on-call responsibilities and after-hours work for proactive stability maintenance and troubleshooting., * Participate in the design, development, and implementation of complex databases, often utilizing new technologies.
- Manage multiple moderately complex projects and direct team activities related to special initiatives or operations.
- Provide support for numerous projects, initially focused on SQL 2016 to SQL 2022 migrations.
- Support SQL Business As Usual (BAU) for core business functions.
- Conduct frequent troubleshooting and proactive stability maintenance.
- Perform AlwaysOn performance and tuning, including for large, high-tier environments.
- Utilize Query Store for troubleshooting performance issues.
- Work under minimal supervision, with general guidance from managers or senior consultants.
Requirements
Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in SQL Server Administration.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with MS SQL, SSDS, SSRS, SSIS, and Query Store. Candidates should possess knowledge of Linux and strong troubleshooting skills. Experience with project management is also required., * Previous experience in the banking industry.
- Familiarity with Splunk, Dynatrace, or TigerGraph.
- Experience with other RDBMS such as Redis or CockroachDB.
Work Environment
This role requires adherence to a hybrid schedule, with a minimum of three days per week on-site.
