Job description
The successful candidate will provide oversight and management support for a team of over 30 Windows engineers. This team is responsible for operations, maintenance, and engineering support for the client's Common Operating Environment. The Server Tower Lead will provide leadership to the Windows Server Tower staff and serve as a Windows engineering thought leader for the Government client. This role involves managing a wide range of technologies and services, from on-premise servers to multi-cloud environments, and ensuring service stability by responding to initiatives and resolving outages., * Provide leadership for a team of 30+ personnel performing complex engineering, operations, and maintenance support.
- Serve as the escalation point for application support and troubleshooting, providing guidance on complex production, application, or system problems.
- Oversee the provisioning, patching, vulnerability remediation, and day-to-day management of the Windows server environment.
- Manage ServiceNow ticket queues for incidents, requests, and changes, ensuring compliance with documentation standards.
- Facilitate and lead daily change management meetings with team and government staff.
- Provide inputs for presentations and deliverables to management, including program and progress reviews.
- Collaborate with other infrastructure and vendor teams to develop solutions for multi-faceted requirements.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis and Problem Management for Windows systems and tools.
- Create and maintain system documentation for domain technologies, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting steps.
- Provide support for new enterprise systems and contribute to engineering solutions that address existing issues.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience managing multi-discipline server and system operation teams.
- Experience managing teams of 30+ personnel in complex engineering and O&M environments.
- Project Manager, Project Lead, or Program Manager experience leading teams of similar size, ideally supporting government clients.
- Expert-level experience in managing service delivery and solutioning.
- Extensive knowledge of multi-vendor server operating systems.
- Experience in a fast-paced ITSM support environment, including leading troubleshooting calls across multiple teams.
- Experience with performing root cause analysis, risk identification, and risk mitigation.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively.

Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in all aspects of enterprise Windows environment operations, maintenance, and engineering.
- Enterprise Architect experience, particularly in medium to large government environments.
- Experience with the ServiceNow ITSM platform, including managing tickets, building dashboards, and creating workflows.
- Experience leading on-premises to cloud migrations to Azure, AWS, OCI, and/or Google Cloud Platform.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
- Agile certifications such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe, or PMI-ACP.
- ITIL certification(s).
- Cloud solution architect or enterprise architect certifications (AWS, Azure, Google).
