Job description
This is a highly technical position responsible for the architecture and design of complex Linux/Unix and Kubernetes computing environments, in both on-prem and Cloud/AWS arenas. Focus is on AIX/RHEL administration, Kubernetes, virtualization, and storage technologies, and Disaster Recovery processes. Collaborate closely with developers and other technology personnel to develop, migrate and manage services in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud environment, and in physical data centers.
Requirements
Proven ability to create, configure, and manage Enterprise Linux based systems
Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking services, setup, and troubleshooting
o routing, firewall filtering, load balancing, DNS, VLAN isolation, service APIs, gateways, proxies, and packet capture, ...
Demonstrated experience creating and managing shell scripts
o bash, korn shell , python
Experience maintaining secure, hardened systems
o certificate and key management, ACLs, PAM, IAM, vulnerability scanning & remediation
Solid understanding and implementation of Linux storage technologies
o SAN, NAS, Object (S3), LVM, RAID, backup & recovery
Good understanding of virtualization and container technologies
o KVM, VirtIO, Xen, QEMU, Podman, Docker, LXC
Desired Skillsets:
Strong Kubernetes implementation and management skills (Rancher container management platform)
Ability to create, manage, and troubleshoot Manifest Files
Ability to develop, read, and update Helm Charts
Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tooling
o Experience using Git and GitLab
Ability to review and troubleshoot Java VM / Tomcat errors and configuration options
Understanding of PostgreSQL deployment and configuration
Knowledge of Gradle or Maven build processes
Experience deploying containerized applications in a public cloud provider (AWS EKS / ECS, Azure ACI / AKS)
