Join our cattle operations team and become the subject matter expert responsible for maintaining the integrity of livestock inventory and cost data across more than 100,000 animals. Working alongside dairy managers, ownership, and the accounting team, you'll solve complex inventory challenges, reconcile cattle movements, and ensure accurate operational data drives financial reporting. Every month you'll investigate cattle movements across multiple operations, investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, improve processes, and provide accurate operational data that leadership relies on to make business decisions. Aspects of Role:

· Become an expert in one of the country's largest heifer replacement programs

· Work with custom software designed specifically for tracking livestock inventory and costing

· Help improve and shape the systems and processes supporting a growing operation

· Collaborate directly with ownership and operations

· Investigate complex operational and inventory challenges, * Maintain the integrity of livestock inventory by investigating discrepancies, reconciling inventory activity, and ensuring accurate operational reporting:

  • Entering purchase, transfers and sales records per shipment load, by collecting/confirming individual animal records
  • Investigate and resolve inventory variances by reviewing support documentation and collaborating with cattle team, external vendors, and operation managers.
  • Update heifer records for pregnancy status and other identifiers
  • Collect and enter invoices into software
  • Assign purchases and raising costs to associated animals/operations
  • Reconcile monthly expenses to ensure all costs have been properly allocated
  • Complete monthly inventory tasks, including:
  • Filling out physical inventory roll-forward support
  • Reconciling calf program
  • Identify & clean up heifer records
  • Prepare supporting documentation for audit and bank reporting
  • Other inventory tracking and analysis responsibilities within dairy & beef cattle operations

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Agribusiness, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3-7 years of experience in inventory management, operations, accounting, agriculture, supply chain, manufacturing, logistics, or a similar analytical role involving inventory tracking, reconciliation, and problem solving
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ability to manage multiple data entry systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to investigate variances independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with professionalism in vendor and manager interactions.
  • Enjoys building new processes as well as reviewing current processes
  • Prior experience in dairy, livestock, or agricultural business support preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet monthly deadlines.
