Job description

The Webmaster and Applications Developer administers, develops, secures, maintains, and supports the University's websites, web applications, APIs, databases, CRM tools, and related web services. The role serves as the technical lead for Drupal administration, custom web application and API development, web server management, accessibility, analytics, and system integrations, while supporting CRM platforms such as Technolutions Slate and CollegeNET 25Live. Position works closely with Information Technology, Marketing/Communications, Admissions, academic and administrative departments, vendors, and other stakeholders, this position ensures web services are secure, accessible, reliable, and aligned with institutional needs. The role also supports website publishers and content contributors, evaluates new web technologies, and participates in the planning and implementation of new web-based services. This position reports to Director of CRM Systems. Website Administration, Drupal/Pantheon

  • Administer, configure, maintain, and support the University's Drupal CMS hosted on Pantheon, ensuring security, performance, availability, and reliability.
  • Manage Drupal users, roles, permissions, workflows, content types, menus, taxonomies, templates, navigation, redirects, and site configuration.
  • Monitor website performance, troubleshoot content publishing, rendering, modules, themes, forms, permissions, broken links, and system issues.
  • Plan, test, and implement Drupal upgrades, patches, deployments, and enhancements while minimizing service disruption.
  • Ensure compliance with WCAG accessibility standards and best practices by supporting accessible content, documents, forms, media, and user experiences.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Communications, IT, and campus departments to maintain accurate, accessible, and user-friendly websites.
  • Support website analytics, SEO initiatives, usability improvements, and performance reporting.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, governance standards, workflows, and support procedures related to Drupal administration and website operations.

Systems Integration & Web Application Development

  • Design, develop, maintain, and support custom web applications, portals, forms, reports, scripts, and enterprise web solutions.
  • Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot integrations using APIs, web services, and data exchanges between Drupal, Slate, 25Live, PeopleSoft, Microsoft services, authentication platforms, SQL Server, and other enterprise systems.
  • Administer and maintain web infrastructure, including IIS, Apache, Tomcat, ColdFusion, SQL Server, application services, certificates, scheduled tasks, and related technologies.
  • Monitor application performance, logs, security, availability, and integrations; troubleshoot application, database, server, authentication, and API issues.
  • Plan and implement software installations, upgrades, patches, security updates, backup and recovery procedures, and disaster recovery activities.
  • Collaborate with Infrastructure, Security, vendors, and campus stakeholders to design, implement, and support reliable enterprise web solutions.
  • Research, evaluate, and implement new technologies, APIs, development tools, and integration solutions to improve University web services.
  • Develop technical documentation, support standards, and governance practices for applications, integrations, and enterprise web systems.

25Live Administration

  • Administer and maintain the CollegeNET 25Live platform, including user accounts, security roles, locations, resources, publisher feeds, and system configuration.
  • Configure, publish, and maintain 25Live event feeds and calendar integrations within the University website.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to access, permissions, publishing, locations, resources, and system configuration.
  • Collaborate with campus stakeholders and vendors to improve scheduling processes, data quality, usability, and web presentation.
  • Provide technical support, documentation, training, and best practices for campus users and functional departments.

Technolutions, Slate CRM

  • Develop and support custom forms, reports, portals, data feeds, and other department-specific slate based solutions.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of web application administration, web development, content management systems, and enterprise web technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience administering Drupal (Pantheon), including configuration, security, user management, workflows, modules, themes, upgrades, and ongoing platform maintenance.
  • Knowledge of web accessibility standards (WCAG), usability principles, SEO, and best practices for developing accessible, user-centered websites and applications.
  • Experience designing, developing, and supporting custom web applications using modern programming languages, scripting technologies, databases, and front end frameworks (e.g., ASP.NET/C, ColdFusion, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SQL, XML, JSON).
  • Experience designing, developing, documenting, and supporting APIs, RESTful services, web services, and enterprise system integrations.
  • Strong understanding of relational database concepts, SQL Server, data integration, reporting, and database-driven web applications.
  • Experience administering and troubleshooting web servers, application servers, and supporting infrastructure, including IIS, Apache, Tomcat, ColdFusion, and related technologies.
  • Knowledge of web application security principles, authentication and authorization methods, secure coding practices, role-based security, certificates, vulnerability management, and patching.
  • Experience supporting enterprise platforms and integrations, including CRM systems (e.g., Technolutions Slate), scheduling systems (e.g., CollegeNET 25Live), and other enterprise applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues involving websites, applications, databases, APIs, authentication, integrations, and infrastructure.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, test, and implement software upgrades, deployments, system enhancements, and technology projects while minimizing service disruption.
  • Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation, standards, procedures, and user support materials.
  • Strong analytical, project management, organizational, and problem solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non technical stakeholders, vendors, and campus departments.
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service, continuous improvement, and delivering secure, reliable, accessible, and maintainable web solutions.
