Job description

The Assistant Director of Data and Reporting Services supports the CRM, reporting, data quality, and business systems needs of University Relations and Development. The incumbent translates advancement business needs into reports, dashboards, data workflows, integration requirements, testing plans, and process improvements that support fundraising, alumni engagement, stewardship, and strategic planning. The incumbent is also responsible for advancement benchmarking, peer analysis, and strategic reporting initiatives. In addition, this position plays a central role in implementing a modern reporting environment within the CRM system to support data-informed decision-making., * Lead in the gathering and analyzing of reporting requirements and development of custom queries and reports that support division goals and responsibilities.

  • Coordinate the development, integration, and automation of CRM reporting environments and related systems, including collaborating with stakeholders, vendors, and IT to implement system enhancements, integrations, and upgrades.
  • Lead advancement benchmarking, peer analysis, and strategic reporting initiatives by leveraging outside data sources including CASE Insights and other comparative sources to inform fundraising performance, resource allocation, and executive decision-making.

Requirements

The ideal candidate possesses a strong working knowledge of querying, reporting, and data visualization tools, with proficiency in Power BI, FetchXML, Python, and SQL. They demonstrate a solid understanding of data quality management and data governance best practices, coupled with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable, and user-friendly insights. Success in this role requires strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities, as well as excellent communication and collaboration skills to thrive in a team-oriented environment. The candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining data accuracy and integrity. Preferred qualifications include hands-on experience administering fundraising CRM databases, including data maintenance, application implementation, reporting, and system security, as well as experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365, the Microsoft Power Platform, and Office 365.

  • Hiring Range: The hiring range for this position is $7,284 (Step 1) - $8,367 (Step 8) per month commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.

To be eligible for full benefits, employees must be appointed at least half-time (.50 FTE) with an appointment lasting more than six months and one day.
