Our ITAM Software Analyst (SAM) serves as the administrator for Software Asset and License Management. Our Analyst ensures accurate software data by configuring automated discovery tools (i.e., ServiceNow SAM Pro and ITOM) to populate the Configuration Management Database (CMDB). This SAM Analyst ensures software asset lifecycle integrity, maintains data quality, and supports ITIL processes. They manage approved software models, administers software license allocations, and provides portfolio and spend impact analysis. This Software Asset Management Analyst supports audit readiness and delivers real-time inventory, compliance, and security information for IT and business teams, including requirements tied to government contracts., Our first consideration will be to have this employee be able to take advantage of Hybrid work and collaboration, living within the state of Wisconsin. Employees within 45 miles of WPS Headquarters (1717 W. Broadway in Madison, WI, 53713) will be expected to be able to work in office 2 days a week on a regular basis. **As a secondary consideration, we do offer remote work in the following approved states: Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin

- Can administer and maintain ServiceNow SAM Pro system, including normalization, rationalization, entitlements, contracts, software models, and governance of Application Services and Service Offerings.
- Have ensured software license compliance by monitoring usage, managing entitlements, and supporting internal and third party vendor audits.
- Like to develop and maintain governance policies, data standards, asset owner training materials, and application CI relationship mappings.
- Enjoy managing software asset lifecycle activities, from request and procurement support through deployment tracking, maintenance, and retirement.
- Have developed dashboards and reports to measure software portfolio health, usage, and audit/compliance metrics.
- Can identify cost saving opportunities through license harvesting and optimization of unused or underutilized software.
- Enjoys partnering with procurement and stakeholders on vendor management, including contract negotiations, renewals, and maintenance agreements.
- Like to provide guidance to business units regarding software licensing requirements.
- Can participate in implementation and enhancement of ITAM tools and automation initiatives., This position may from time to time provide support to federal health care programs and other governmental or regulated industries. In accordance with law and/or contractual requirements, individuals in this role are or may be subject to all applicable federal regulations, agency contract requirements, and WPS internal policies, including but not limited to standards for data security, privacy, confidentiality, and program integrity. Requirements
- U.S. citizenship is required for this position due to Department of Defense restrictions.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent compensation of education and/or experience.
- ITIL v4 Foundations OR CSAM, CITAM certification.
- 3 or more years of experience in Software Asset Management, IT Asset Management, IT Operations, Procurement, or related field.
- Demonstrated experience administering Software License/Asset Management platforms (i.e., ServiceNow Discovery/SAM Pro).
- Solid knowledge and understanding of IT Asset lifecycle management governance, tracking, and reporting from procurement through disposal.
- Strong communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical customers/asset owners.
- Solid understanding of Tier 1 vendor (e.g., Microsoft, IBM, Adobe) software license metrics, license terms and support terms.
- Strong analytical ability for managing data, forecasting budget impacts and interpreting contract terms of use.
