Job description
We are seeking a Senior Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) Engineer to support a client mission. This role involves leading a sub-team of FPGA engineers, focusing on system design, architecture, and the implementation of the FPGA portion of a cybersecurity product. The position requires reconciling complex customer requirements, communicating technical implications, and serving as the FPGA subject matter expert in a collaborative, cutting-edge environment. This is a hybrid role requiring at least four days onsite in a secure facility., * Lead a sub-team of FPGA engineers, owning the solution's system design and architecture.
- Design and implement the FPGA portion of the system, including firmware components.
- Serve as the FPGA subject matter expert, providing technical and programmatic advice for advanced systems.
- Lead the design, development, testing, fielding, and sustainment of advanced microelectronics systems.
- Develop hardware design specifications from requirements and perform technical planning and circuit-level design.
- Familiarity with system engineering processes, such as Agile or Waterfall, is important for this role.
- Perform functional analysis, trade studies, and requirements allocation to meet customer needs.
- Lead and actively participate in hardware design, including architecture planning and generating functional block diagrams.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
Experience: 7+ years of experience with FPGA development and research across multiple device families and platforms.
Technical Skills:
- Experience with Hardware Description Language (HDL) development and embedded design.
- Experience implementing HDL for systems-on-chip or FPGAs.
- Experience with hardware and design security concepts, including verification methodologies and test benches.
- Knowledge of HTML code and alternatives to HDL in FPGA development, such as HDL Coder or Xilinx System Generator.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with performing verification for defense microelectronics systems.
- Experience with the microelectronics design and verification landscape, including various IP Blocks.
- Experience with Universal Verification Methodology.
- Experience with continuous integration development practices.
- Master's degree or Doctorate in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
