Job description

Are you an FPGA Engineer looking for a role where you'll have genuine ownership of your designs rather than being one small part of a large development team?

We're recruiting on behalf of an innovative engineering business developing advanced electronic systems used within demanding, real-world applications. Working alongside experienced electronics and software engineers, you'll play a key role in designing, developing and verifying FPGA firmware for both new and existing products.

This is a hands-on engineering position where you'll be involved throughout the full development lifecycle, from initial concept through to testing, validation and product release.

What you'll be doing

  • Designing and implementing FPGA solutions using VHDL
  • Developing firmware from concept through to verification
  • Producing clear technical documentation and test benches
  • Supporting product development from requirements through to final release
  • Working closely with electronics and software engineers on integrated solutions
  • Contributing to both new product development and enhancements to existing products
  • Troubleshooting and resolving complex technical challenges

Requirements

You'll ideally have experience in several of the following:

  • FPGA development using VHDL
  • Digital design principles
  • FPGA verification and debugging
  • Xilinx development tools
  • ModelSim or Questa
  • Communication interfaces such as UART, SPI or HDMI
  • Working within embedded or electronic product development
