Job description

The Distribution Center Systems Programmer/Analyst supports and enhances the software systems that drive daily operations at our Fort Worth facility. This role is responsible for maintaining a proprietary Warehouse Control System (WCS), supporting Oracle database applications, and assisting with integrations between business systems and automated material handling equipment.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys solving problems, learning complex systems, and working in an environment where software directly impacts operational performance.

While experience with our specific technology stack is desirable, candidates with solid programming and database fundamentals who are eager to develop expertise in warehouse systems are encouraged to apply.

How You'll Contribute

  • Maintain and enhance proprietary distribution center applications
  • Troubleshoot system issues affecting warehouse operations
  • Develop reports, utilities, interfaces, and operational tools
  • Support software releases, testing, and implementation activities
  • Work closely with distribution center operations and IT teams to improve system functionality
  • Develop and maintain SQL and PL/SQL code
  • Support Oracle database applications and related processes
  • Analyze and resolve data-related issues
  • Support integrations between software applications and warehouse automation systems
  • Assist in troubleshooting communications with conveyor systems, scanners, and PLC-controlled equipment
  • Respond to operational issues in a fast-paced distribution environment
  • Participate in an on-call support rotation as needed, * Oracle Database 12c/19c
  • PL/SQL development
  • Oracle Forms / Web Forms/ Pro*C
  • Unix/Linux shell scripting
  • JSON and XML integrations
  • Warehouse Management Systems (WMS/WCS)
  • PLC or industrial automation environments

Work Schedule & Flexibility

  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Initial training and onboarding will be performed primarily on-site at the Fort Worth Distribution Center.
  • After the 90 to 120 day onboarding period with the facility, operational processes, applications, and automation systems, employees may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement based on business needs and manager approval.
  • Participation in an on-call support rotation may be required.
  • Limited off-hours support may occasionally be necessary during system implementations, upgrades, or operational incidents.
  • This role begins as an on-site learning experience and transitions to a flexible hybrid arrangement as the employee develops operational and technical expertise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and technical concepts
  • Knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts
  • Experience with at least one programming language such as C, C++, Java, Python, or similar
  • Understanding of software development fundamentals and debugging techniques
  • Ability to work effectively in both technical and operational environments
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, * Ability to walk through an active distribution center.
  • Ability to climb stairs and access elevated mezzanine areas.
  • Ability to safely access catwalks and conveyor crossover locations when troubleshooting operational issues.
