Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer Machine Controls (C#) to join our engineering team and play a key role in developing innovative software solutions for advanced industrial automation and laser systems. In this role, you will design, develop, test, and optimize software for standard and custom machine control systems while mentoring engineers, driving technical excellence, and contributing to continuous product innovation. The ideal candidate is passionate about software engineering, industrial automation, and solving complex technical challenges in a collaborative environment., * Design, develop, and maintain software solutions for standard and custom machine control systems.

  • Create software roadmaps, technical architectures, and development plans for new and existing products.
  • Develop robust applications using C#, Python, C++, and modern software development technologies.
  • Build and maintain custom applications utilizing APIs and commercial engineering software, including Visual Components.
  • Develop and maintain Visual Components customizations, including commands and behavior scripts.
  • Read, analyze, troubleshoot, debug, and enhance existing software applications to improve reliability and performance.
  • Develop software specifications and provide technical leadership throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with Automation, Simulation, Design, and Project Engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Lead technical design reviews, code reviews, and cross-functional software validation activities.
  • Support PLC integration and industrial machine control systems during software implementation and testing.
  • Maintain project documentation, software records, and technical specifications throughout project execution.
  • Participate in system testing, troubleshooting, commissioning, and validation within manufacturing environments.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on software quality, efficiency, reliability, and cost optimization.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior software engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 8 years of professional software development experience.
  • Expert-level proficiency in C#, Python, and C++.
  • Strong experience developing applications using React, JavaScript, Electron, HTML, and CSS.
  • Experience with full-stack software development and GraphQL.
  • Advanced experience using Visual Studio or comparable integrated development environments (IDEs).
  • Experience developing custom software utilizing APIs and third-party engineering applications.
  • Strong understanding of PLC programming and industrial machine control systems.
  • Experience working with manufacturing automation and industrial equipment.
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and software optimization skills.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple technical projects while meeting deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
