Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled Embedded Software Engineer to join our dynamic Software Engineering organization based in Manhattan Beach, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for developing software that operates within resource-constrained environments with real-time requirements for various flight, space, and ground systems. You will work with real-time operating systems and implement complex data analysis, routing, and control systems algorithms., * Design, develop, document, test, and debug applications software and systems containing logical and mathematical solutions.
- Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with equipment designers and hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product software.
- Determine overall system and user needs, analyze system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
- Prepare operating instructions and design and develop utility programs.
- Ensure that software standards are met.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Software Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
- Minimum of 5 years of software development experience.
- Experience with Object-Oriented software design and C programming.
- Experience executing in a Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) environment such as FreeRTOS, RT-Linux, or GH Integrity.
- Active Secret Clearance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience across various life cycle phases including software systems architecture development, requirements definition and analysis, Object-Oriented development, code and unit test, system integration, and test.
- Experience with lab instruments such as noise and signal generators, logic analyzers, spectrum and network analyzers, and power sources and switches.
- Experience with hardware validation and verification of RF, digital, or mixed signal devices.
Work Environment
The work environment is fast-paced and involves rapid development in a lab setting. The role requires collaboration with talented engineers from other disciplines, and the use of real-time operating systems such as VxWorks or Linux, along with their associated host/development environments and tools. The candidate should be comfortable working in a process-oriented environment utilizing waterfall, spiral, or agile processes.

This is a Contract position based out of Redondo Beach, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $100.00/hr.
