Job description

The Director, Data Science uses mathematics, statistics, modeling, business analysis, and technology to transform high volumes of complex data into advanced analytic solutions. The Director, Data Science requires an in-depth understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across the function or segment., We are seeking a Director of Data Science to lead our data science product team in creating innovative clinical pharmacy and experiential products. This role will support multiple functions and VPs within the organization and will be accountable for achieving value targets, developing and executing on strategy, and identifying and prioritizing potential products to develop.

As part of a PBM with mail order pharmacies, the Director of Data Science will also be responsible for ensuring that data-driven products are developed to optimize PBM operations and planning, enhance clinical outcomes, and improve the overall customer experience.

Responsibilities:

Lead a team of data scientists in developing and executing on the company's data science product and strategy roadmap

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business opportunities and create data-driven products that drive value for the organization and its customers, with a particular focus on PBM and pharmacy-related products

Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including VPs and functional leaders, to understand their business needs and requirements related to PBM and pharmacy operations

Drive the development and implementation of data-driven products that enhance customer experience, optimize PBM and pharmacy operations, and improve clinical outcomes

Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the success of data science products and initiatives

Stay up-to-date on the latest healthcare industry trends, and data science techniques, tools, and trends

Requirements

Advanced degree or equivalent professional experience

8 years of experience in data science or related field, OR in strategy and product management, with 3 years in a leadership or management role

Experience working with cross-functional teams and collaborating with stakeholders at all levels of the organization

Strong analytical skills and experience working with financial models and business cases

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex data science concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

Preferred Qualifications

MBA and/or PhD

Proven track record of developing and launching successful data-driven products or initiatives

PBM, pharmacy or adjacent industry experience

Demonstrated experience with PySpark, Databricks, SAS, SQL, Python

Demonstrated experience working in Azure and leveraging Azure DevOps
