Job description
Alkanna Consulting, LLC is seeking a Power Platform Developer to support the creation, enhancement, and maintenance of low-code solutions that improve business processes and organizational decision-making.
The Power Platform Developer will assist with application development, workflow automation, dashboard creation, requirements gathering, data analysis, and content management within Microsoft Power Platform and SharePoint environments. The selected candidate will collaborate with senior developers, technical personnel, business stakeholders, and end users to translate operational requirements into secure, reliable, and user-friendly technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Power Platform Development
- Assist with designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining low-code solutions using Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.
- Develop and enhance Power Apps applications, automated workflows, dashboards, reports, and other Power Platform solutions.
- Support the integration of Power Platform solutions with SharePoint, Microsoft 365, structured datasets, and other approved data sources.
- Assist with testing, debugging, troubleshooting, updating, and documenting applications and automated workflows.
- Modify and expand existing applications, workflows, reports, and dashboards to meet changing business requirements.
- Follow established development, testing, configuration management, cybersecurity, and deployment procedures.
- Work with senior developers and technical leads to ensure solutions align with architectural, security, performance, and usability requirements.
Power BI Reporting and Data Visualization
- Build, update, and refine interactive Power BI reports and dashboards.
- Work with stakeholders to identify key performance indicators, reporting requirements, data relationships, and visualization needs.
- Transform raw data into clear, accurate, and actionable reports and visualizations.
- Support data validation, report testing, troubleshooting, and quality assurance activities.
- Apply data visualization and dashboard design principles to improve usability and support informed decision-making.
- Assist with developing data models, measures, calculations, filters, and report navigation features.
- Maintain documentation for reports, dashboards, data sources, and associated business rules.
SharePoint and Knowledge Management Support
- Develop and maintain SharePoint knowledge bases, site pages, document libraries, lists, and other content repositories.
- Update and organize SharePoint content to ensure information is accurate, current, accessible, and easy to locate.
- Assist with maintaining SharePoint permissions, security groups, access controls, and content governance requirements.
- Support the development and administration of knowledge management tools and resources.
- Troubleshoot SharePoint access, navigation, content, and usability issues.
- Coordinate with content owners and stakeholders to identify and implement required updates.
Requirements Gathering and User Support
- Work with senior developers, stakeholders, business analysts, and end users to gather and document business and functional requirements.
- Translate approved business requirements into technical tasks, user stories, configuration activities, and development assignments.
- Participate in solution demonstrations, technical reviews, user acceptance testing, and stakeholder feedback sessions.
- Provide user support for Power Platform, Power BI, SharePoint, and knowledge management solutions.
- Assist with developing user guides, job aids, standard operating procedures, and technical documentation.
- Help train staff on the use of Power Apps, Power BI dashboards, automated workflows, SharePoint sites, and knowledge management systems.
- Perform other duties and related tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, information systems, data analytics, software development, business technology, or a related discipline.
- An equivalent combination of education, technical training, certifications, and relevant professional experience may be considered.
- Minimum of six years of progressive experience in application development, low-code development, data analytics, business intelligence, SharePoint, workflow automation, or a related discipline.
- Working-level experience with Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.
- Experience creating or maintaining applications, automated workflows, dashboards, reports, or SharePoint solutions.
- Basic understanding of key performance indicators, data visualization principles, dashboard design, and reporting practices.
- Foundational knowledge of SQL and experience working with structured datasets.
- Experience gathering, documenting, and translating business requirements into technical tasks.
- Experience testing, troubleshooting, debugging, modifying, and documenting technical solutions.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with senior developers and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet established deadlines.
Certification Requirements
- Current certification that satisfies the applicable IAT Level II requirement identified in the contract.
- Current Microsoft Power BI certification.
- Required certifications must remain active and in good standing throughout employment and the applicable period of contract performance., * Experience developing Microsoft Power Platform solutions in a Department of Defense, federal Government, healthcare, or other regulated environment.
- Experience with Microsoft Dataverse, Power Platform connectors, data gateways, and solution management.
- Experience developing Power BI data models, Data Analysis Expressions measures, and Power Query transformations.
- Experience with SharePoint Online site pages, lists, libraries, permissions, and content management.
- Familiarity with application lifecycle management and development, testing, and production environments.
- Familiarity with Section 508 accessibility requirements and accessible dashboard design.
- Experience developing technical documentation, user guides, training materials, and standard operating procedures.
- Experience supporting user acceptance testing and production deployment activities.
- Familiarity with Agile development practices, user stories, sprint planning, and backlog management.
