Job description

The Cyber Defense SETA / Manager provides support to the customer in the area of Cybersecurity. Daily tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Supervise, coordinate, provide leadership to and review the work of assigned staff. Provide formal and informal performance feedback, both verbally and in writing.
  • Directly supervise individual contributors in technical cybersecurity positions
  • Estimates staffing needs, assigns work, recommend candidates for employment, make recommendations for termination, conduct performance evaluations and salary reviews for assigned staff and responsible for the application of company policies
  • Identify baseline, capability and coverage gaps
  • Recommend process improvements
  • Plan future requirements and capabilities
  • Support specific technical efforts to enable mission assurance, resiliency, and defensive cyber operations
  • Assist with validation and verification of Cyber Defense activities. Provide research, independent analysis, documentation, Concept of Operations development, planning, capability assessments and proof of concept activities
  • Assess current and proposed changes to relevant processes, procedures, applications and infrastructure
  • Articulate priorities, risks, issues and opportunities.
  • Develop and provide briefings and other technical artifacts; communicate verbally and in writing complex technical information in a manner appropriate to the intended audience
  • Ensure future capabilities are sound, meet documented requirements and standards and are maintainable for defensive cyber operations.

Requirements

  • 12 to 15 years with BS/BA or 10 to 13 years with MS/MA or 10+ years with Ph.D.
  • Must possess and be able to maintain a TS/SCI with Poly
  • Able to support customer's core hours (0900-1500; Mon - Fri)
  • Cyber certification in IAT or IAM
  • Ability to actively collaborate with customers, contractors and other stakeholders both at customer facilities and contractor facilities
  • Experience with the customer's operations environment; mission systems familiarity
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills necessary to work with a wide variety of personnel, including the executive level
  • Demonstrated experience in systems engineering, requirements development and technical analysis of requirements leading to analysis of alternatives,
  • Demonstrated experience with DISA security, STIG compliance auditing and network engineering background
  • Demonstrated experience with DISA STIG tools, security assessment tools, network security and RMF Experience with active and passive CND solutions and the analytics used to perform Defensive Cyber Operations with Mission Assurance to include Syslog, Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR), IDS, Full Packet Capture, Elastic Stack, SIEM (ArcSight, LogRhythm, Splunk, Etc)
  • AWS/C2S Cloud familiarity/experience and associated AWS/C2S Cybersecurity Services
  • Ability to work in highly decentralized organization requiring both virtual and physical interaction with mission partners across organizational boundaries.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or an advanced IA certification
  • Self-starter requiring limited direction and supervision
  • Experience briefing senior customer personnel
  • Ability to organize and prioritize numerous customer requests in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
  • Familiarity with customer's IA processes
