Job description
The Platform Engineer (Python / Backend) is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and supporting the core backend services that power the Security Hub platform. This role will build scalable APIs, microservices, data processing pipelines, telemetry ingestion services, workflow orchestration components, and AI-enabled backend capabilities supporting the Data Private Cloud (DPC) Security Hub initiative. The Platform Engineer will work closely with the Security Hub Architect, Technical Lead, Integration Lead, and DevOps teams to implement a secure, resilient, and scalable platform that serves as the authoritative system of record for security findings, controls, remediation workflows, and operational reporting., Backend Platform Development Design and develop Python-based backend services supporting Security Hub operations. Build scalable APIs, microservices, and platform components. Develop reusable service frameworks and common platform capabilities. Ensure solutions meet enterprise performance, scalability, and security requirements. Security Hub Core Services Develop services supporting: Security finding management Control validation Alert processing Event correlation Workflow orchestration Compliance evidence collection Reporting and analytics Support implementation of Security Hub as the centralized system of record for security findings. Telemetry & Data Processing Develop telemetry ingestion and normalization services. Build event-processing pipelines utilizing Kafka and event-driven architectures. Support correlation and enrichment of security data from multiple sources. Implement data transformation and workflow processing logic. API & Integration Services Develop RESTful APIs and backend integration services. Support integrations with: Keycloak Ranger OpenShift APIs ServiceNow Kafka LGTM Vault/Venafi DataHub StorageGRID Implement secure authentication, authorization, and service communication mechanisms. Automation & AI Enablement Develop backend services supporting workflow automation and remediation orchestration. Implement AI-enabled capabilities including: Triage support Root-cause analysis workflows Risk prioritization Recommendation services Integrate AI capabilities within Wells Fargo-approved platforms and architectures. Testing & Quality Engineering Develop unit, integration, and automated tests. Participate in code reviews and quality assurance activities. Support performance, resiliency, and security testing. Resolve defects and support production issue remediation. DevOps & Deployment Support Support CI/CD pipeline implementation and deployment automation. Participate in OpenShift containerization and deployment activities. Assist with production releases and environment support. Contribute to monitoring, logging, and observability solutions. Operational Readiness Create technical documentation and support materials. Support development of runbooks and operational procedures. Participate in knowledge transfer activities. Requirements
5+ years of Python backend development experience. Experience building enterprise-grade APIs and microservices. Experience working in cloud-native and containerized environments. Experience supporting large-scale platform implementations. Technical Skills Python FastAPI, Flask, Django, or equivalent frameworks REST API Development Microservices Architecture Kafka/Event Streaming SQL and NoSQL Databases OpenShift / Kubernetes Docker Containers Git CI/CD Pipelines Linux Data & Integration Skills API Integration Event-Driven Architecture Data Transformation & Processing Message Queues & Streaming Platforms JSON/XML Data Structures Security Knowledge Secure Coding Practices Authentication & Authorization Identity & Access Management Concepts Security Logging & Monitoring OWASP Principles Preferred Qualifications Experience with OpenShift and Kubernetes environments. Experience building Security Operations, SIEM, SOAR, CNAPP, CSPM, or Security Hub platforms. Experience integrating ServiceNow and IAM platforms. Experience implementing Kafka-based architectures. Experience supporting AI/ML-enabled applications. Experience within financial services or highly regulated environments.
