Full Stack Java Script Developer - On Azure

Hands-on full-stack delivery across two initial projects: a greenfield build of a new customer portal, and taking ownership of several key websites currently developed externally - bringing them in-house, then developing them forward. Built on Azure. Beyond the initial projects, the role develops the in-house web and product estate as the permanent engineering foundation of the digital programme., * Full-stack development of the new customer portal: Node.js / Express services, React or Vue front end, SQL data layer - from first line of code to production.

• Take over the business's key websites from external suppliers: assess what exists, manage the transition in-house, and develop the sites forward.
• Build and run on Azure: App Service or container hosting, Azure SQL, Functions, Azure DevOps pipelines and the surrounding service catalogue.
• Design and build the APIs connecting the portal and websites to the existing estate, working with the technical leads on integration patterns.
• Own engineering quality for the in-house codebase: automated testing, CI/CD, and sensible code review discipline even in a small team.
• Work directly from the Senior Product Designer's specifications, flagging feasibility issues early rather than building around them.

• Proven commercial full-stack JavaScript: Node, Express, React and/or Vue, solid SQL - production systems, not portfolio projects.
• Azure development experience: deploying and operating real workloads on Azure services, not just familiarity.
• Evidence of both building from scratch and taking over existing codebases - the role involves each.
• Comfortable as one of a small team without senior engineers to lean on.
• Experience across both customer-facing websites and web applications valued.
