Job description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented IT Task Lead/IT Support Specialist to support a high-visibility government and military environment. The IT Task Lead will lead IT support operations, cybersecurity initiatives, Identity and Access Management (IAM), endpoint security and compliance efforts while supporting over 500 users. This position requires experience working in DoD environments and the ability to manage multiple projects while ensuring compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards. The ideal candidate will provide technical support, maintain secure IT operations, and ensure compliance with organizational cybersecurity policies and standards. This role requires professionalism, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to support senior government civilians and military personnel in mission-critical environments., * Lead daily IT operations supporting mission-critical DoD systems across NIPRNet and SIPRNet environments.
- Plan and execute IT infrastructure relocations, equipment deployments, and organizational transitions.
- Administer identity and access management (IAM), privileged accounts, SAAR processing, and account lifecycle management.
- Perform incident response activities including malware remediation, DLP investigations, unauthorized software removal, and classified spillage response.
- Manage endpoint security solutions, mobile device deployments, and Microsoft Intune administration.
- Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity requirements including RMF, NIST, STIGs, COMSEC and TEMPEST policies.
- Conduct system compliance assessments.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for incidents and IT support requests and coordinating resolutions with internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate with government organizations, industry partners, and cybersecurity teams to support mission requirements.
- Lead IT modernization projects, including endpoint management migrations and enterprise technology upgrades.
- Provide technical guidance and cybersecurity training to IT personnel on DoD security policies and operational procedures.
- Support newly activated units by providing IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and account management services.
- Coordinate with government cybersecurity organizations on COMSEC activities and security initiatives.
Requirements
- Over 3 years of experience supporting DoD IT Systems OR at least 5 years of professional IT/Cybersecurity experience.
- Experience supporting Windows enterprise environments, Microsoft Azure and Active Directory.
- Experience with Identity and Access Management (IAM), privileged access administration, and account lifecycle management.
- Experience supporting Microsoft Intune or other enterprise endpoint management platforms.
- Knowledge of NIST, RMF, STIG, COMSEC and DoD cybersecurity policies.
- Experience with ServiceNow or similar IT service management platforms.
- Experience supporting incident response and customer service skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance (or currently possess one)., * Comfortable working within government and military environments.
- Prior military or government civilian experience.
- Active SECRET Security Clearance.
- Experience supporting NIPRNet and SIPRNet environments.
- Experience with Microsoft Defender, endpoint detection and response (DER) and vulnerability management.
- Experience leading IT teams or supervising technical personnel.
- Familiarity with TEMPEST requirements and classified system support.
- Experience planning and executing enterprise IT migrations and modernization projects.
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Current DoD 8570/8140 IAT level II certification (such as Security+, CySA+, CCNA or equivalent).
- Experience supporting Microsoft O365 environments.
- Familiarity with COMSEC policies and security guide implementation.
- Experience supporting cybersecurity incident response activities.
- Ability to professionally support high-ranking government civilians and military personnel.
