Key responsibilities - Monitor SIEM dashboards for potential security events. - Perform initial triage of alerts to determine severity, urgency, and legitimacy. - Escalate verified security incidents to Tier 2 analysts following SOC escalation procedures. - Document findings clearly and accurately in incident tracking systems. - Review threat intelligence feeds for emerging threats or indicators of compromise (IOCs). - Maintain awareness of current cybersecurity news and trends. - Participate in shift handover meetings and maintain proper communication with the team. - Follow established SOC playbooks and standard operating procedures. - Assist in maintaining SOC dashboards, reports, and daily operational summaries. - Complete SOC training modules, certifications, and lab exercises assigned by senior analysts. - Develop proficiency with SIEM, EDR, network monitoring tools, and basic scripting. - Understand cybersecurity
Requirements
frameworks (NIST, MITRE ATT&CK) and SOC best practices. MIN REQUIREMENTS Required Skills & Qualifications - Understanding of networking concepts: TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, VPNs, firewalls. - Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux) and basic command line usage. - Introductory knowledge of cybersecurity concepts: malware types, phishing, vulnerabilities. - Exposure to SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar, Microsoft Sentinel, etc.) is a plus. - Certifications such as Security Blue Team Level 1, CompTIA Security+, or similar. Soft Skills - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. - Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-alert environment. - Good communication and documentation skills. - Willingness to learn and grow within the cybersecurity field.
