Job description
We're hiring a DevOps Engineer to join our platform team in Kansas City. You'll own the infrastructure and deployment pipelines that our engineering teams rely on every day, with real autonomy to improve how we build, ship, and run software. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys automating away toil and takes pride in systems that just work., * Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (we use GitHub Actions and ArgoCD) so teams can deploy confidently, multiple times a day
- Managing our AWS infrastructure with Terraform, including EKS clusters, RDS, and networking
- Improving observability across services using Prometheus, Grafana, and Datadog
- Hardening our Kubernetes platform: autoscaling, cost optimization, and security baselines
- Writing automation in Python and Bash to eliminate manual, repetitive work
- Partnering with development teams on incident response, postmortems, and reliability improvements
- Contributing to our infrastructure roadmap, including an ongoing migration from ECS to EKS
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, platform engineering, or systems engineering
- Solid experience with at least one major cloud provider (we're on AWS, but strong Azure or GCP experience transfers)
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code, ideally Terraform
- Working knowledge of containers and Kubernetes in production
- Scripting ability in Python, Bash, or similar
- Comfort troubleshooting Linux systems and networking issues under pressure
Nice to have (genuinely optional, not secretly required):
- Experience with GitOps workflows (ArgoCD, Flux)
- Exposure to security and compliance tooling (SOC 2 environments, vulnerability scanning)
- Experience mentoring engineers or leading small infrastructure projects
- AWS certifications
