Job description
You will join an international team that is responsible for developing, rolling out and supporting LAN & Wi-Fi access networks, which is a global standard. You will participate in agile work processes such as daily stand-ups, sprint reviews and planning. Together with the Product Manager, the team (squad) works on common goals and a shared backlog. We use video and collaboration tools to facilitate the communication process. The LAN & Wi-Fi Squad is responsible for delivering high-speed low latency networks on ING locations worldwide, based on a cloud-managed SaaS solution. The position is a DevOps role which means you are developing, implementing and managing new and existing infrastructure with the focus on making the work more efficient and predictable by automation. The latest technique in orchestrating infrastructure is used, interest and preferably experience with automation and network development is required Your key responsibilities: As a Senior Network Automation Engineer LAN & Wi-Fi, you will:
- develop and maintain automation solutions for network infrastructure, ensuring scalability, reliability and security ,
- design, implement and optimize scripts and software to automate network operations and reduce manual tasks,
- test and validate automation code and scripts, including those delivered by you and other squad members,
- perform code reviews and enforce coding standards within the squad to maintain quality and consistency,
- execute incident resolution, implement changes and drive continuous improvements for our LAN Wi-Fi services,
- create and maintain clear documentation of automation workflows, standards and best practices to support knowledge sharing and ensure compliance,
- participate in troubleshooting and root cause analysis for automation-related and network related issues,
- provide technical guidance and mentorship to squad members on automation practices.

Requirements

You are an energetic Network Automation Engineer with more than 6-7 years of experience in automation, who enjoys programming and scripting and can apply these skills effectively in an enterprise environment

experience working in Agile/DevOps environments

experience with CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and Infrastructure as Code practices

solid understanding of REST APIs, Python, Git, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)

are a team player, proactive and comfortable with both technical challenges and collaboration,
-
have proven experience in implementing, configuring and modifying network infrastructure,
-
are skilled in working with network (monitoring) tools and experience with open-source solutions is considered an advantage,

possess strong analytical abilities, enabling you to make connections and critically assess network designs from both technical implementation and security perspectives,

are proactive and demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. You'll get extra points for:

Bachelor's degree in IT or a related discipline
