Job description
We are looking for an experienced developer with an interest or background in Common Lisp to join RavenPack's Analytics team. We are a group of engineers and professionals that thrives when working together. We'd love for you to be a part of our company and join us in Marbella. You will be reporting to the Analytics Manager and you will interact with peers across various lines of business and technical teams to support projects that will span text classification, big data analysis and product development among others., As a software developer, you will be focused on the development and maintenance of applications that, among other things, extract data from incoming news and deliver user and machine-friendly analytics to customers.

You will be assigned various projects with the objective of improving your skills and knowledge of our systems. More responsibility will be granted as knowledge and performance improve.

Researching advanced techniques in text processing.

Developing in Common Lisp to the highest quality.

Helping to manage various internal applications that form part of our infrastructure.

Requirements
The ability to communicate effectively in English, both in writing and verbally is a must. Knowledge of Spanish is not a business requirement., + Professional experience developing in Lisp is not a requirement, but if you are not currently a Lisp expert you are eager to become one.

Professional experience working as a developer in any language or equivalent quality personal projects.

Experienced in developing for distributed infrastructures and making scalable systems.

Strong understanding of functional and object-oriented programming.

Adaptable and willing to learn new technologies independently.

Good documentation and communication skills. Desirable

You are fluent in modern software development practices, including multi-threading, and distributed systems.

Knowledge and experience with cloud computing, especially AWS.

Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

Familiarity with container technologies such as Docker.

Experience with software testing methodologies.

Experience writing text analysis or NLP software.

Experience working with Oracle and other databases, SQL knowledge.

Experience with document-oriented & search databases like Elasticsearch.

Experience with using Machine Learning as a tool for NLP.
