Job description

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Software Developer in Test (SDET) in Boston, MA. Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated testing solutions to support application quality and delivery
  • Create and execute functional, regression, integration, end-to-end, API, and performance test strategies
  • Build reusable automation components, frameworks, and libraries to improve testing efficiency and maintainability
  • Develop automation scripts using Java and modern testing frameworks
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing and DevOps practices
  • Support containerized and cloud-based testing environments
  • Analyze test results, pipeline failures, defects, and production issues to identify root causes and improve reliability
  • Partner with development, product, architecture, and QA teams to define quality standards and acceptance criteria
  • Review designs and code for testability, reliability, performance, and adherence to automation best practices
  • Develop quality metrics, dashboards, and reporting to support risk management and continuous improvement
  • Mentor junior QA engineers and promote modern quality engineering practices

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in software development, quality engineering, or test automation
  • Strong Java programming skills with experience in object-oriented design principles
  • Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and tools such as Selenium WebDriver, JUnit, TestNG, Cucumber, REST Assured, Maven, and Gradle
  • Experience with API, integration, contract, functional, regression, system, and performance testing
  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or CloudBees
  • Experience with databases and advanced SQL querying for validation and testing
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms, containerization, and distributed systems
  • Familiarity with messaging platforms, event-driven architectures, and microservices testing
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work independently, lead quality initiatives, and drive continuous improvement
  • Experience in regulated environments, security testing, monitoring tools, or relevant certifications is a plus

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
