Job description
The Agriculture Technology Specialist supports farming operations by implementing, maintaining, and improving agricultural technology systems that increase operational efficiency, crop productivity, data accuracy, and decisionmaking. This role works closely with field operations, agronomy, equipment teams, and technology groups to support precision agriculture tools, GPS systems, mapping platforms, data collection processes, and digital solutions used across agricultural operations., * Support the implementation, use, and troubleshooting of agriculture technology systems, including GPS, GIS, field mapping, remote sensing, precision application tools, and farm management software.
- Collect, organize, validate, and analyze agricultural data related to fields, equipment, crop performance, soil conditions, planting, harvesting, and input applications.
- Assist with installation, calibration, maintenance, and testing of technology hardware and software used in field and equipment operations.
- Develop and maintain accurate digital field records, maps, reports, and dashboards to support operational planning and decisionmaking.
- Train and support employees on the effective use of agricultural technology tools, mobile applications, data collection processes, and equipment interfaces.
- Collaborate with operations, agronomy, IT, and equipment teams to identify technology needs and recommend practical solutions that improve productivity and efficiency.
- Monitor technology performance, resolve user issues, and coordinate with vendors or internal teams for advanced technical support.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to streamline field processes, improve data quality, reduce waste, and enhance resource utilization.
- Stay current on agriculture technology trends, tools, and best practices relevant to precision agriculture and field operations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, data integrity expectations, and operational procedures.
Requirements
- Farming experience preferred, * Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture or Agronomy or a related field
- Have an above average GPA
