Job description

We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist who is excited to build the data products that shape Paramount's DTC business strategy, optimize our content strategy, and inform our marketing investment decisions. You will build statistical models on internal user-level and 3rd party data that will explore the impact of the most important decisions leading our DTC business - from pricing strategy to distribution strategy; from content strategy to product experience. Specific projects will include measuring the price elasticity of our DTC products across domestic and global markets, developing a coherent pricing strategy across global markets which balances growth and investment, and forecasting our DTC businesses. Success in this role requires a candidate who can coherently, concisely, and convincingly communicate statistics to non-technical stakeholders, deep experience with traditional and advanced statistical models, and a team player who is excited to play a substantive role in the next phase of Paramount's DTC business. Responsibilities

  • Translate complex business problems into coherent, actionable quantitative solutions
  • Work closely with stakeholders to deeply understand their needs and deliver clear and actionable insights
  • Build statistical models that will decipher the impact of key decisions and the impact of competitor's decisions
  • Forecast the future of our DTC businesses
  • Measure the price elasticity of our DTC products and competitive products across global and domestic markets
  • Develop a coherent and optimized pricing strategy across our DTC products
  • Contribute to models advancing Paramount's DTC financial forecasts
  • Integrate data science tooling into all aspects of our DTC financial forecasts

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in Data Science.
  • Deep experience with traditional and cutting edge statistical models
  • Experience with natural experimentation and/or econometric methods
  • Ability to break complex problems into simple, coherent solutions
  • Deep experience writing robust Python and SQL code as part of a team
  • Robust detail orientation with a penchant for data accuracy
  • Communicate with non-technical stakeholders
  • Must successfully pass a background check

Bonus Skills (Nice-to-Haves)

  • Experience with integrating AI solutions into existing business processes.
  • Experience with media or subscription businesses
  • Experience using Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, ML Engine, and APIs)

Benefits & conditions

Hiring Salary Range: $124,000.00 - 186,000.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
