Job description

We're looking for a Client Ecosystem Lead to own the strategy, quality, and delivery of our client applications across various platforms including iOS, Android, macOS, Windows, and Linux. This is a hands-on leadership role - you will be expected to be deeply embedded in the work, not just directing from above. You'll serve as the connective tissue between Engineering, Product, Design, and our upstream platform & vendor dependencies to ensure that our clients are best-in-class across every platform on which they run.

This role owns a meaningful company outcome: the quality, release cadence, and user experience of our client products. That means you carry accountability alongside authority.

What You'll Do

  • Own the full client lifecycle across all platforms - from upstream OS and vendor release cycles through QA, launch, and post-launch support
  • Set platform-idiomatic UX standards for iOS, Android, macOS, Windows, and Linux
  • Manage upstream dependency changes and roadmap planning & delivery
  • Define quality benchmarks. Partner with Support & Customer Engineering to close the loop on user issues
  • Grow and mentor a high-performing team of engineers and QA specialists. Keep stakeholders informed on roadmap, risk, and outcomes

Requirements

  • Hands-on technical background - you've built, tested, or shipped software and can engage credibly with engineers
  • Fluency in platform-idiomatic UX across iOS, Android, macOS, Windows, and Linux
  • Familiarity with desktop distribution and packaging: App Store, Microsoft Store, and Linux package managers
  • A working knowledge of secure networking fundamentals - VPNs, TLS/mTLS, DNS, tunneling protocols, and endpoint security
  • Eligible to work in the US and obtain a security clearance
  • Available to travel on a monthly or semi-monthly basis

Strong Differentiators

  • A proven track record of owning a significant outcome: product delivery, revenue target, quality program, or customer success metric
  • Progressive experience in software development, QA/QC, customer engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • Experience at a cloud or networking company (Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto) or a VPN/secure connectivity company (NordVPN, ProtonVPN, Mullvad)
  • Has navigated multiple upstream OS release cycles
  • Comfortable in regulated or security-conscious environments - audits, compliance, sensitive data handling
