What this session covers

When autonomous AI agents handle enterprise metrics, numerical accuracy is non-negotiable. Traditional approaches that allow LLMs to write raw SQL or compute mathematical operations directly are highly prone to hallucination and catastrophic drift. To build truly production-ready BI and operational agents, we must separate cognitive reasoning from data truth.

Drawing from real-world implementations, this session breaks down the exact architectural blueprint required to build trusted, data-driven multi-agent systems. We will explore how to decouple the reasoning engine from the math layer by integrating multi-agent orchestration frameworks (LangGraph, CrewAI) directly with the dbt Semantic Layer and Metric Store.

We will break down the exact patterns for: 1. The Semantic Shield: Restricting agents to query predefined metrics rather than writing raw code, ensuring 100% accurate aggregations. 2. Dynamic BI Generation: How specialized chart-generation agents translate deterministic dbt outputs into real-time interactive visualizations. 3. Multi-Agent Data Orchestration: The precise state-sharing mechanics between data-fetching agents, validation agents, and plotting agents.

We will conclude with a code-level walkthrough and live demonstration showing an autonomous agent querying a dbt semantic layer and generating an accurate, dynamic BI chart in real time.
