World Congress 2024
We might soon live in a world where natural language and your voice can be the primary tool for coding. In this talk, we look into voice-driven development, exploring how speech recognition and AI-powered companions can streamline the code-deploy-test cycle, enhancing developer experience, productivity, and real-time feedback.
We will discuss the emerging technologies enabling voice input in development work, their potential for DX, and the challenges we must overcome. We’ll touch upon wake word detection, the Web Speech API for capturing developer input, and the application of large language models (LLMs) for Java code creation and modification and Vaadin for Java-only UI. We’ll also explore the concept of in-memory compilation for near real-time results. The session will include a live demo, which is entirely unpredictable. :)
