Operation FrankenstAIn - Let's build an agent with your own APIs

July 9, 2025 13:30 – 15:30 · 120 min M4 (40 Seats)

What this session covers

LLMs in isolation behave like a brain without connected organs - it cannot retrieve new information or act on them other than creating new thoughts based on prompts (telepathy if you will ;-) Function calling - or more fancy - Agentic AI changes that by providing a standardized way how to wire “organs” aka APIs to the model so that it can decide how to use those in order to accomplish a task. We will start with a very short introduction on Agentic AI and function calling and an example based on Anthropic’s MCP how to create architecture descriptions and Berlin techno songs out of Confluence pages. Once we all have the demo up and running, we will wire their own APIs and SaaS APIs as additional organs building our own FrankenstAIn (sic) agent. All examples will be in Typescript and do not require any commercial licenses. Don’t fear if you are not a Typescript expert: I will also show how to use a code GenAI agent with Postman Toolgen and hack your FrankenstAIN together with you.
