What this session covers

This session will explore how to manage innovation at scale and improve developer experience in a large engineering org where change is the only constant. Over the last decade, Spotify has evolved from monoliths to microservices, on-premise to cloud native and K8s, a handful of software migrations a year to thousands, and manual coding to increasing automation and LLMs. Spotify developers work through these evolutions in their integrated development environment (IDE) and Backstage, our internal developer portal (IDP). For Spotify, source control is a source of truth — not just for code, but for ownership and more — which gives us insights into our orgs and our ways of working. In this session, we will explore how our integrations (with our repos) have helped shape these migrations through massive technological and organizational shifts, made one PR at a time.
