Rapid Microservice Development with Project Templates

Microservice architectures are popular in modern software development. Their flexibility enhances scalability, maintainability, and thus the overall efficiency of the development process. However, many microservices share non-functional elements such as programming language, CI/CD and other configurations, that are independent of the functional implentation. Implementating and maintaining these elements is time consuming and requires a different skill set than the functional implementation. Here, we provide a live demo of our project template for microservices, which largely improves the developer experience by taking care of the shared elements. Thereby, we keep a consistent code base and workflow, while maintaining the flexibility of the functional implementation in each microservice. In addition, the template serves as a central documentation and provides best-practice implementations for common use cases, such as communication via a message queue and interactions with databases.
