World Congress 2026 Europe - Virtual Stage

From Collecting Bottle Caps 🥤to Building Vision 👀

June 30, 2026

What this session covers

I started collecting bottle caps at the age of 7, and over time, I ended up with over 400 unique bottle caps. So, I asked myself: How could I remember my bottle caps?

I dive into the world of computer vision, experimenting with methods like Hough Transform Circles, SIFT, and AI models. Each approach brought its own challenges, some failed due to poor accuracy, while others were too slow or computationally expensive.

The journey has been filled with frustration (and still is), but it also sparked a deeper curiosity: How could I make this work? Through countless trials, I started to piece together the solution. But the full story? That’s something I’m eager to share during the presentation.

  • 5 min: Introduction and context
  • 10 min: Issues encountered in the computer vision project and solutions
  • 10 min: Backend deployment to minimize cost
  • 5 min: Q&A
