From Data Mesh to AI Mesh: Integrating Distributed Intelligence on Decentralized Data Architectures

June 30, 2026

What this session covers

While Data Mesh decentralizes data ownership, the “AI Mesh” brings intelligence directly to that data. This session provides the architectural blueprint for building an “AI Mesh”, a distributed network of domain-specific agents that collaborate through open standards. Drawing from a practical sustainability use case (ESG), we will demonstrate how to build this system on AWS using Bedrock, SageMaker Unified Studio, and open standards like the Model Context Protocol (MCP), moving from “data as a product” to “intelligence as a product”, and show how agents in energy, supply chain, and finance can collaborate to optimize carbon reporting and track performance in real-time.
