In most organizations, “continuous improvement” has become a paradox where teams are asked to deliver faster, fix everything, and still innovate, all while maintaining reliability. The result? People running faster inside systems not built for coordination, leading to exhaustion disguised as progress.
This talk introduces the 4 Cs Framework (Context, Coordination, Cooperation, and Composition), a practical model developed from leading R&D Operations at Rocket.Chat, an open-source company with distributed teams. The framework helps teams improve continuously without burning out by focusing on how people connect, align, and collaborate in complex environments.
Each C represents a lever of sustainable improvement: - Context: Aligning on the real problems to solve and the “job to be done.” - Coordination: Designing structured steps that make collaboration easier. - Cooperation: Reducing friction and building trust through daily progress checks. - Composition: Ensuring the right people are involved at the right moments.
Instead of claiming perfect metrics, this session shares patterns, lessons, and experiments. Shows how reshaping enablement and communication reduced escalations, created better visibility, and freed teams to focus on meaningful work.
Attendees will leave with a framework they can adapt immediately to balance delivery, improvement, and human sustainability.
