GitHub Copilot in JetBrains: From Plugin to AI Agent—A New Era of Developer Productivity

July 8, 2026 12:00 – 12:45 · 45 min Room M1 (60 Seats)

What this session covers

What if your IDE didn’t just assist you, but actively collaborated with you?

GitHub Copilot (GHCP) in JetBrains has evolved far beyond code completion. With the introduction of agent-based workflows, deeper IDE integration, and support for the Agent Client Protocol (ACP), developers can now orchestrate complex coding tasks, delegate work, and iterate faster. All without leaving their preferred JetBrains environment.

In this session, we’ll explore how GitHub Copilot unlocks a new developer experience inside IntelliJ, PyCharm, and other JetBrains IDEs. You’ll learn how Copilot seamlessly integrates into your daily workflow with inline suggestions, chat, code review, and automated commit generation, while also enabling advanced scenarios like agent-driven development, multi-step task execution, and CLI-powered workflows.
