High Quality AI Development

Everyone talks about speed: “10x”, “100x”, a feature in an afternoon. But speed is the easy part, and the dangerous one. The real question is whether AI can produce software that meets professional quality standards, the kind you’d put into production and maintain for a decade. In this workshop I share what I learned rebuilding an 18-year-old enterprise back-office system from scratch with AI in 45 days: ten microservices, hundreds of thousands of lines of code, full tests, complete documentation, zero structural debt. The uncomfortable message: AI doesn’t lower the bar for what you need to know, it raises it. Without architecture, design, testing and domain knowledge, AI just accelerates you into chaos. This is not vibe coding, it’s engineering with the human in control of the quality gates. We’ll look at how to build a reusable harness that forces the AI to follow your standards, why tests must come from specifications rather than generated code, and how the developer’s role shifts toward architect and decision-maker.
