Job description

Introduction to the team
We create and deliver tailored marketing strategies for Expedia Group’s brands, focusing on establishing strong connections and cohesive experiences for travelers and partners. We leverage our functional expertise and creative excellence to build trust and loyalty for our brands through innovative marketing approaches and technology.

Make an impact!
Join Expedia Group’s Growth Marketing Technology team to help shape the future of marketing through data-driven innovation and AI-powered solutions. As a Product owner, you’ll play a pivotal role in developing scalable marketing technologies that enhance automation, measurement, and personalization across global marketing campaigns on platforms such as Google, Meta and Apple. You will partner closely with engineering and machine learning teams to define priorities and solve complex problems. This is an opportunity to lead meaningful work and influence how modern marketing capabilities are built and delivered.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead product strategy, roadmap, and execution for AI, machine learning, automation, and decisioning capabilities within Growth Marketing Technology, from discovery through production and ongoing optimization
  • Partner deeply with engineering, data science, analytics, and marketing teams to define scalable solutions across measurement, automation, optimization, and intelligent marketing workflows
  • Lead technical discovery and solutioning by translating complex marketing problems into clear product requirements, system capabilities, data flows, APIs, workflow orchestration, and measurable outcomes
  • Own the product lifecycle with engineering and data science, including data and feature pipelines, model or system selection, experimentation, evaluation, deployment, monitoring, guardrails, and feedback loops
  • Drive the productionization of AI and agentic capabilities, including tool use, orchestration, state and context management, failure handling, human-in-the-loop experiences, and operational controls
  • Define validation approaches and success measures for AI and ML products, using appropriate offline and online metrics, experimentation, quality thresholds, error analysis, and business impact measures
  • Use customer, campaign, and product data to identify opportunities, evaluate performance, make technical and product trade-offs, and continuously improve system quality and marketing effectiveness

Requirements

Experience and qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience
  • 8+ years of product management experience, including significant ownership of data, platform, automation, AI, ML, or decisioning products
  • Demonstrated experience taking AI or ML capabilities from problem definition or prototype through production launch and ongoing operation at scale
  • Strong understanding of the machine learning lifecycle, including data preparation, feature development, model training, evaluation, experimentation, deployment, monitoring, drift, and iteration
  • Experience partnering with engineering and data science on technical architecture, APIs, data pipelines, workflow orchestration, scalable data products, MLOps, observability, and reliability
  • Experience defining evaluation and validation frameworks for AI or ML products, including offline metrics, online experimentation, human evaluation, quality thresholds, error analysis, and guardrails
  • Experience building or productizing agentic systems, intelligent workflows, recommended systems, optimization systems, decision engines, or comparable AI-enabled platforms; able to explain the underlying technical approach and trade-offs
  • Strong technical fluency in SQL and Python or a similar language, with the ability to inspect data, reason about model or system outputs, and participate credibly in technical solutioning
  • Proficient communication skills, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and experience influencing senior technical and business partners through ambiguity
  • Experience in growth marketing, advertising technology, marketing automation, or another complex domain with measurable optimization or business outcomes
  • Demonstrated curiosity about AI and ML innovation, with the judgment to identify practical applications, understand limitations, and translate emerging techniques into production opportunities
