Job description

Specialize in network engineering in a global datacenter environment. This role requires deep expertise in network hardware testing, strong cross-functional collaboration skills, and a proactive approach to emerging datacenter technologies. What You’ll Do

  • Lead extensive hands-on lab testing and validation of switches, optics, cables, and NIC connectivity to deliver fully functional end-to-end hardware solutions
  • Qualify and approve at least three OEM vendors for each critical component (switch, optic, cable, NIC) used in the current environment to ensure supply-chain resilience and compatibility
  • Partner with design, deployment, and operations teams to validate production SKUs, gather field feedback, and refine future hardware recommendations
  • Perform specialized testing and validation of networking for Tesla Internal Inference/training hardware solutions and liquid-cooled network infrastructure
  • Evaluate and test network hardware for different factors but not limited to power (AC/DC), Specs (MGX, ORv3), Air Cooled/Liquid cool, Rack compatibility, Manifold verification etc.
  • Collaborate with workplace team on development network or electrical components and/or services to meet their needs
  • Function as a Tier 1-2 escalation point
  • Document network knowledgebase and operational “Run-Book”
  • Must be able to work occasional weekends, after hours, and holidays
  • Participate in on call rotation and 10% travel required as necessary

Requirements

Do you have experience in Production systems?, * Over 6 years of experience deploying and operating large-scale global data center networking infrastructure

  • Extensive hands-on experience with network hardware testing and strong familiarity with next-generation hardware options
  • In-depth expertise in IP networking and L2/L3 protocols, including Spanning Tree, OSPF, BGP, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, end-to-end QoS, VLAN, VRRP, LACP, MC-LAG, EVPN with VXLAN, ACL, NAC, and infrastructure cabling
  • Proven experience working in multi-vendor environments with NVIDIA, Juniper, Arista, and Cisco platforms
  • Comprehensive knowledge of data center technologies, including power systems, cooling solutions, thermal management, and various rack types
  • Skilled in using diagnostic and monitoring tools such as protocol analyzers, SNMP, gNMI, NetFlow, IPAM, RADIUS, Splunk, network taps, and load/stress testing utilities
  • Proficient in network automation and scripting using Python, Ansible, or similar tools
  • Preferred certifications include CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent credentials
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Confluence, and Visio
