Job description

The Sales Analyst, Haircare, supports data-driven decision-making across the Aveda and Bumble and bumble brands within The Estée Lauder Companies’ North America Haircare portfolio. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality reporting, analysis, and insights to drive sales performance, inform planning, and enhance cross-functional collaboration.

The analyst partners closely with the Director of Planning and Analytics to manage and expand a centralized Haircare data ecosystem-ensuring data accuracy, accessibility, and actionable storytelling. This individual serves as a key connector between sales, marketing, and finance teams, translating complex datasets into clear narratives that influence strategic business outcomes.

Reporting & Data Management

  • Lead creation and delivery of weekly, monthly, and ad hoc sales reports across Aveda and Bumble and bumble.
  • Generate performance summaries at both the account and product levels, covering total North America and channel-specific metrics.
  • Maintain and validate sales data accuracy through consistent audits and reconciliations.
  • Support continued build-out of centralized Haircare data sources within Databricks to enable cleaner, more accessible reporting.

Forecasting & Performance Reconciliation

  • Compile and consolidate new product launch forecasts across channels and accounts, ensuring alignment with historical benchmarks, category trends, and business assumptions.
  • Design and maintain forecasting tools and templates that allow functional teams to easily translate marketing assumptions into actionable sales and volume projections.
  • Partner with channel leads to validate and reconcile forecast submissions, ensuring accuracy, reasonableness, and consistency across brands and regions.
  • Conduct total North America roll-ups of Haircare forecasts, serving as liaison between all channels to ensure alignment and transparency.
  • Deliver post-launch analyses that measure performance against original assumptions, highlighting key learnings and improvement opportunities for future launches.

Business Analysis & Insights

  • Translate raw data into meaningful business insights that highlight key trends, risks, and growth opportunities.
  • Partner with Sales and Marketing to assess performance of new product launches, promotional activity, and retail/partner sell-through.
  • Deliver concise, visual storytelling through dashboards and presentations that clearly articulate business performance drivers.
  • Support executive-level readouts and planning discussions with analytical insights and performance summaries.

Systems & Tool Development

  • Collaborate with the Director of Planning and Analytics on development and optimization of Power BI dashboards.
  • Assist in automation of recurring reports and analytical processes using SQL, Databricks, and Power BI pipelines.
  • Ensure continuous data integrity and alignment across systems and reports.

Ad Hoc Projects & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Manage and execute ad hoc reporting requests across Aveda and Bumble and bumble, often under tight deadlines.
  • Compile and analyze non-system data (e.g., partner submissions, field updates) to inform holistic business views.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, and Brand teams to ensure consistent, insight-led decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Finance, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in sales analytics, business intelligence, or data analysis-preferably within beauty, CPG, or retail.
  • Strong technical proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and SQL; experience with Databricks or similar data platforms strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights and compelling business stories.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to balance multiple priorities, manage deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
  • Team-oriented, proactive, and intellectually curious - eager to problem-solve and continuously improve data processes.
